An old penthouse situated at the Marina Alimos in Athens was completely cored in the course of the renovation and reconstructed according to modern living needs. The functional layout of the apartment divides the duplex into an open living floor in the attic and a private retreat level in the fifth floor.

The focal point of the living level is the spacious dining area with open kitchen and the 7 m long glass front with an unobstructed view of the marina. The spacious terrace with lounge area expands the living space to the outside and serves as an outdoor living room. The greened relaxation terrace overlooking the Hymettos ridge is accessible from the living area.

The two levels are connected by a sculptural steel spiral staircase. The private level includes an open reading area, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Large glass facades offer views of the marina from every room.

Great emphasis was placed on the selection of materials that should be found on both levels: walnut wood, steel and stoneware. The quiet, harmonious mood of the duplex apartment is created by the combination of wood, the cozy gray tone and the generous, white (furniture) surfaces.
